Xhosa is a Bantu language spoken by people in southern Africa. The native name of the language is isiXhosa, and the people who speak belong to various Nguni clans.

isiXhosa has 8,2 million native speakers and is spoken mainly in the provinces of Eastern Cape, Western Cape, Gauteng and Northern Cape in South Africa. isiXhosa is a member of the Nguni language group, and is most closely related to isiZulu, isiNdebele and siSwati.
