Sotho is a Bantu language spoken by people in southern Africa. The native name of the language is Sesotho, and the people who speak it are known as Basotho.

Sesotho has 5,6 million native speakers and is spoken in Lesotho, South Africa and Zimbabwe. Sesotho is a member of the Sotho-Tswana group, and is most closely related to Setswana and Sepedi.
