Frequently asked questions

Angula means to reply, respond, or retort in the Xitsonga language.

We offer online courses which build your competence in listening, speaking, reading and writing in your desired African language. We also offer audio phrasebooks and wordbooks to support you in your learning journey.

We offer 9 languages which are spoken in South Africa, eSwatini, Lesotho, and Botswana. The languages are isiNdebele, Khoikhoi, isiXhosa, isiZulu, Sepedi, Sesotho, Setswana, siSwati, Tshivenḓa, and Xitsonga.

We are in the planning stages to work on more languages spoken in the SADC region throughout the year 2024 to complement our existing offerings. You can stay up to date with new languages and product updates on the roadmap page.

It depends on your subscription. The Free subscription is limited to two languages, the Starter subscription is limited to three languages, and the Premium subscriptions have an unlimited number of languages.

You can update your language settings on the profile page on the website or on the profile tab on your iOS or Android app.

We do not yet have subscriptions for schools, but we will in the future. You can email us at hello@angula.app for inquries.

We accept debit and credit card payments on our website and offer in-app purchases through Apple App Store and Google Play Store for our mobile app users.

Once subscribed, you'll be able to enjoy our language content on all your devices seamlessly. Whether you're using a smartphone, tablet, or computer, your subscription will provide access across all platforms.

It depends on the device you used to subscribe.

If you subscribed using the website, you can amend your subscription using the monthly email sent to you by Paystack. You can cancel your subscription via our website or mobile apps.

If you subscribed using an iPhone or iPad, you can amend or cancel your subscription using the Apple App Store.

If you subscribed using an Android phone or tablet, you can amend or cancel your subscription using the Google Play Store.

We do not offer upgrade options at the moment.

If you'd like to stop receiving marketing communications, click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email.

If you'd like to stop a reminder, delete the reminder from your profile page on the website or the profile tab on the mobile apps.

You can delete your personal information by deleting your account. Note that if you delete your account, all your data will be deleted beyond retrieval. It is a one-way trip.

If you want to come back to Angula after account deletion, you'd have to create a new account.
